Storage plus comfort, how practical our forefathers' were! The saddle back trunk is a flat-topped trunk with a leather "bag" attached to the lid. A trap door is cut inside the center of the lid where bed linen & nightclothes were firmly stuffed, making a comfortable place to sit plus storage for other belongings. Once the traveler reached their destination the trunk became a piece of furniture to be handed down from generation to generation. Hand-forged handles and keyed lock.
