About Us ![]() Preservation and Education We are makers of 18th Century fine wood & leather covered trunks, chests, and carrying cases. Our pieces are recreated from original pieces using materials as close to the originals as we are able, offering "museum quality" reproductions. During our extensive travels participating and demonstrating at Colonial re-enactments over the years, we continuously researched and developed our trade. From museums to private collections across the country we gathered the information for our artifact quality reproductions. Our pieces can be seen in their original settings at numerous historical sites here in the United States as well as many museums. Each piece is individually hand-made right here in the United States. We even make the hardware used on our trunks, right down to casting square shanked brass nails we use for collectors, museums, & historical sites. We also sell our hardware separately, for antique restoration, interior designers, & the do-it-yourselfers. We've attempted to give you a little history on the different pieces we offer, remember trunks really transcended time up until the industrialization of manufacturing. Some of our pieces actually pre-date the 18th Century in basic design. We have chosen to adhere to standards set by the early Guilds, which stated, "are to be covered with fine finished leather and lined with woven goods" It is with pride that we attempt to preserve the past through an on-going educational process for ourselves and for those interested in learning how our forefathers worked and lived in the 18th Century. If you find yourself in the hills of West Virginia come spend the day with us in the shop. The coffee is always on!
